A Little Bit About Me!

Hello!

 

I'm Louisa: a Scottish illustrator and designer based in both urban Aberdeen, and rural Dumfries & Galloway. 

 

The early part of my life was spent in a small, rural, coastal village, surrounded by wonderful scenery. So naturally, I'm inspired by the changing moods of the sea, our wild, rocky coast and unspoilt sandy beaches, and the beautiful natural landscapes.

 

In 2022, I graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen with a First Class Honours Degree. So, I was delighted that my first commission, fresh out of university, was with STV (Scottish Television). Following this, in 2023 and 2024, I was accepted to exhibit at Scotland’s premier art event, Spring Fling: one of the UK’s most successful contemporary visual arts and crafts events.

Through the use of limited colour palettes, my illustrations have a unique graphic style, reminiscent of vintage railway posters. Coastal landscapes are my niche, but I also love to personify animals in cute illustrations, and make minimalistic maps to showcase local areas and wildlife.

My prints and greeting cards are printed in the UK on FSC certified 100% recycled paper, so in buying my work, you’re not only supporting a local artist, but the planet too!
